Meet your therapist
Kenneth Taylor, M.Ed, LPCA
Licensed Professional Counselor Associate
Doctoral Student of Psychology and Behavioral Health
People rarely seek therapy because life is going exactly as planned. Most meet Kenneth during seasons of uncertainty, heartache, transition, or quiet exhaustion; when what once worked no longer feels enough.
Kenneth has spent his career sitting with people during moments of fear, uncertainty, grief, and crisis. Working in EMS and on a Critical Care Neonatal and Pediatric Flight Team, Kenneth has cared for critically ill and injured children while supporting families facing unimaginable circumstances. His professional background also includes experience in law enforcement, where he provided emergency medical care and supported public safety operations as part of specialized response teams. Working at the intersection of medicine, crisis response, and public safety has given Kenneth a unique understanding of how people respond when life suddenly feels uncertain or overwhelming.
Kenneth believes therapy is about far more than reducing symptoms. It is about helping people understand themselves, recognize patterns that no longer serve them, strengthen relationships, and build a life that feels authentic and meaningful. His style is genuine, collaborative, and down-to-earth. Clients often describe him as calm, approachable, and someone who makes difficult conversations feel a little less intimidating.
Kenneth works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, grief, and chronic stress. He has a particular passion for working with healthcare professionals, first responders, law enforcement officers, and others who spend their careers carrying responsibilities that few people fully understand. He also enjoys helping individuals who appear "high functioning" on the outside but privately feel exhausted, disconnected, or overwhelmed.
His therapeutic approach is rooted in Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while integrating psychodynamic concepts when exploring longstanding emotional patterns. Rather than offering quick fixes, Kenneth works alongside clients to better understand the experiences that shaped them while developing practical tools that foster lasting change.
Kenneth earned his Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisville and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Behavioral Health Leadership. His work continues to be guided by one simple belief:
People are far more resilient than they realize. Sometimes they just need someone willing to help them remember that. Whether you've spent years taking care of everyone else or simply feel like you've lost sight of yourself, therapy can be a place where you finally don't have to carry it alone. You don't have to be in crisis to deserve support. You don't have to have the right words before you walk through the door. You just have to be willing to begin.
